The creation of Skin Equation began with a deeply personal moment in Dr Burcu Colak’s life.
When her three-month-old baby developed severe eczema, she was faced with the challenge of caring for extremely sensitive skin. As a research chemist, she began to question conventional skincare solutions and searched for gentler, more effective alternatives rooted in nature and science.
This journey led her to the emerging world of waterfree skincare—an innovative approach that replaces diluted formulations with concentrated skincare formulas powered by natural actives. She discovered that removing water from formulations allowed botanical ingredients to remain more potent, stable and effective.
Driven by both scientific curiosity and maternal care, Dr Colak began developing her own science-led skincare formulations. Her goal was simple: to create products that could calm, support and restore compromised skin without irritation or unnecessary additives.
What began as a personal mission soon evolved into Skin Equation—a brand built on the belief that skincare should be both highly effective and uncompromisingly clean.
